Why Clean Water Matters to Pickleball Players
At first glance, pickleball and clean water might not seem connected. But here’s the thing:

Who Are Captains for Clean Water?
Captains for Clean Water started as a group of fishing guides who got tired of watching their waters decline. Instead of staying quiet, they spoke up. Today, they’re a nationally recognized nonprofit fighting for science-based solutions to restore Florida’s water and protect our ecosystems.
They advocate for policy change, educate the public, and get involved in restoration projects that make a real difference. And they’re doing it right here in our backyard.
For us at G.O.A.T. Paddle, teaming up with Captains for Clean Water was a no-brainer. They’re locals. They’re fighters. And like us, they’re doing it because they love this place.

One of the projects closest to our hearts has been mentoring Bounceback Pickle, founded by Dylan Rosenthal, a Florida Gulf Coast University student with a vision.
Dylan saw an opportunity to tackle one of pickleball’s growing waste problems: the mountains of used pickleballs that end up in landfills. His solution? Create a recycling and repurpose program to give those balls a second life — turning waste into something useful and meaningful.
At G.O.A.T. Paddle, we’ve been proud to mentor Dylan and watch Bounceback Pickle grow into a force for good in our sport. It’s proof that the next generation is ready to step up, innovate, and protect the future of both pickleball and our planet.
